The Moon Dimmed the Light
The Moon Dimmed the Light
Digital Print
66.5 x 59 cm
2022

The inspiration for this work was a young man collecting money in front of a Rewe supermarket at Kottbusser Tor. His face was covered with tattoos. The technique of disguising the face, which resembles a tattoo, was undoubtedly inspired by this young man. The "gold tacks" in this artwork symbolize precious gems and rays of light traditionally used in religious paintings.

Collage material: magazine, gold tacks, photos, newspaper and eggshells.

In 2021 this work became part of the permanent collection of the Berlinische Galerie.
