“Fearless and Dominant,” 2018/21
Digital photo-documented collage on matte fine art photo paper, 37 × 33 inches

This work became an immediate personal mantra within a politically charged and oppressive atmosphere during the Trump era.

The “single eye” in the foreground—recurring throughout my collage practice—symbolizes protection, foresight, and vigilance. It may also be read as the artist’s eye, returning the viewer’s gaze.

The black-and-white half veil functions as a protective mask and was originally inspired by Gucci.

Collage materials include magazine imagery, newsprint, cardboard, and black paint.

In 2021, this work entered the permanent collection of the Berlinische Galerie.

The artist was invited by the Berlinische Galerie to have this artwork, featured in the exhibition Images in Fashion – Clothing in Art, produced as a poster.

The poster remains available as of 2026. For inquiries, please contact Dagmar Petzold at the Museum Shop.
