“Jacob’s Fountain” a short super 8 film shot in lower Manhattan in 2000. and edited in Berlin. Its a film seen through a photographic, investigative lens-representing a consolidation of this language. This language writes a film, which through its reduction and simplification of means appears to result in nothing quite so spectacular. By subtracting possible effects, I hope to sharpen the view of the observer. The supposed beginning of a tale becomes many stories without beginning or end. Disclosing the boundlessness of possibility and sensitizes the viewer to perceive deviations in monotony, the absurd in the mundane. I present to the viewer the chance to discover their own stories, stories connected with each other in indescribable ways. "

Jacob’s Fountain, which was originally designed and built by Jacob Wrey Mould in 1871 is located in front of City Hall.
